Will the Cold Win Out?

As always seems to be the case, the Midsouth is the dividing line between the cold air and the warm (relatively speaking) gulf air. Although the cold front that swept through over the weekend made it to the Gulf Coast, it has began to wave back north, bringing with it copius amounts of moisture. Upper level impulses will move along the front causing precipitation. It remains to be seen if the temps will rebound enough today to stay above freezing tonight.
Many times when you have a setup like this, temps will actually warm as the atmosphere moistens up.

Yesterday's high was 35 and the overnight low 31.

I want to give a "shout-out " to Dave and Tina in Brazil for keeping up the with the weather in the Midsouth.
