A Chilly Weekend In Store

Over the last day and a half, many areas across the Midsouth were blessed with a generous amount of rain. There were also some areas that received severe weather.

Star City (Lincoln County) just happened to be in the path of one of those storms today.

At @ 12:45 , a thunderstorm moved into Star City and started laying down nickel-size hail which qualified it as being severe ( a storm has to have winds in excess of 57 MPH or has to be putting down hail at least 3/4 " in diameter to be considered as severe).

Your local storm spotter made the call to the NWS and reported the severe weather.

This weekend will bring abnormally chilly weather to the Midsouth for this time of year. There is even a possibility for some mixed precip tomorrow, with highs only in the middle 40's .

Warm now- Cooler later

As much as many of us would like to think(including myself) that spring is almost here, winter is not through with us. I just looked at the NAO and it is forecast to go negative in a big way later this month. (see link)

If that comes to past, winter may end up on a cold note for the Midsouth.

Heads up for the next 48 hours. Severe weather is possible over the Midsouth during this time. When possible we will try to keep you informed of any impending severe weather.
Yesterday's high was 74 and our low last night was 53.
