Over the last day and a half, many areas across the Midsouth were blessed with a generous amount of rain. There were also some areas that received severe weather.
Star City (Lincoln County) just happened to be in the path of one of those storms today.
At @ 12:45 , a thunderstorm moved into Star City and started laying down nickel-size hail which qualified it as being severe ( a storm has to have winds in excess of 57 MPH or has to be putting down hail at least 3/4 " in diameter to be considered as severe).
Your local storm spotter made the call to the NWS and reported the severe weather.
This weekend will bring abnormally chilly weather to the Midsouth for this time of year. There is even a possibility for some mixed precip tomorrow, with highs only in the middle 40's .
