There is some good news coming from the landfall of Hurricane Ike. The Arkansas-Texas game scheduled for Saturday has been postponed until the 27th of this month. The Razorbacks can put-off their beatdown for a couple of weeks!!
That is about the only good news coming out of this. I did forget that parts of Eastern Texas are too dry-they will catch up soon.

IKE TAKES A JOG NW

Humongous Hurricane Ike continues to make a trek towards the Texas coast with a minimum pressure of 945 MB and maximum sustained winds of @ 100 MPH. Ike's track the last 18 hours takes it closer to a probable central Texas landfall by early Saturday morning, making it more likely to affect the ARKLAMISS area.

WELCOME ! IKE IS DOING THE IKEE SHUFFLE!

After lambasting Cuba, Hurricane Ike is has now slowed it's forward progress, which is usually a bad sign.
Bad in that it is probably trying to re-intensify and get better organized-just as forecast. Would luv to see this high pressure squash it down to nothing, but that is not going to happen....
Hopefully the gov of Texas has done his job in getting that state ready for what may be a major hurricane landfall.
